What’re the limits to his regeneration? If it’s very powerful regeneration, why does he need impenetrable skin? I’d vote for super speed is that is the case.
Otherwise, impenetrable skin.

Bill on June 25, 2012 at 11:13 pm

i think he should get super strenght because if they need something heavy out of the way joe can just push it with his finger

xjg246 on June 25, 2012 at 11:18 pm

Power Fist needs a Powerful Fist. Besides, the regeneration is already enough to make him nigh-unstoppable.

Psychapprentice on June 25, 2012 at 11:29 pm

Impenetrable skin, here’s why:
Super strength can pummel enemies, but only at close range, taking a hit from a robot, mutant, or plant monster would likely knock him out leaving him to his regeneration, if the rest of his team aren’t wiped out. A firearm or melee weapon could make up for his lack of strength.
Super speed can have him dodge attacks, but it doesn’t stop vampires and the like deceiving him for the one moment he stops moving.
With impenetrable skin he could take damage without fear or getting knocked out or killed.

Firewood on June 25, 2012 at 11:32 pm

That is a tough choice! Great scene! I say strength because he can kill more things that way and he doesn’t need impenetrable skin if he can heal fast

zach on June 25, 2012 at 11:48 pm

Hmmm…impenetrable skin would protect him from pain, as well as we don’t know how his regen will hold up against something like a machine energy blast. Also, Joe has a penchant for not wanting to feel pain. Me personally, he needs a few more broken arms. Or a few more bullets to the shoulder.

Super strength is definitely the thing “normal” Joe would pick. He could toss things around, show he does not want to be messed with, but at the same time, at the end of the day, he is mostly as vulnerable as most everybody else and can still feel pain.

But my personal choice would be super speed. He could still show himself off, but it might teach him that perhaps powers are not everything. Plus, being able to run from Bernie and Jess would definitely be on his mind.

Reaver on June 26, 2012 at 12:09 am

I would say super-strength, that way he at least has the potential to tango with more of the heavy-hitters coming into play. It would give him more of a scrappy ‘wolverine’ style power-set with the powerful offense and regenerative abilities.Again, as mentioned above, what is ‘power-fist’ without that whalloping punch?
:)

Eric on June 26, 2012 at 12:27 am

ps. Give him FULLY unlocked strength, since he will require it to even out the scales between him and foes with the telepathic strengths.

Eric on June 26, 2012 at 12:30 am

I’d say speed.

Don’t forget, there’s a machine army on their way to the City, and a fast messenger, as much of an a**hole he might be, is still needed.

Nick on June 26, 2012 at 12:31 am

Strength for sure.

CC on June 26, 2012 at 12:53 am

Damn i love this :D
I would say as evil joe is making decision he will give skin to keep “stupid” joe alive until he can take control over body again.

Jerome on June 26, 2012 at 1:02 am

Super Strength or speed, cause if he can already heal himself it won’t be that bad to receive some damage.

Fabricio, Greybane's successor (?) on June 26, 2012 at 1:16 am

skin

matthías on June 26, 2012 at 1:17 am

Huuum… Hard choice mean hard thinking.

Joe will already have regeneration so impenetrable skin would make this ability completely useless. I say Two power that you use are far better than two power when you use only one. That leave super speed and super strengt. We have to think about the power he already have: regeneration, super strength mean that he would have to be close to his ennemies and may eventually be overhelmed to the point were he is unable to regenerate as fast as he is hurt… on the other hand super speed would allow him to dodge bullets and kill quickly, speed is a strength when you are really fast your blow are powerful too. All he need is a tiny knife and he could behead anyone.

So if we consider only good Joe I would pick super speed…

BUT

There is also black eyed Joe, he will still have the power that aren’t chosen. Yes of course he is currently imprisoned but he might break free at some point. And then he will have super strenght and impenetrable skin. Gosh, he would be like an human tank. So if we prefer an easy to beat Bad Joe we should pick impenetrable skin because then Bad Joe would be forced to give control back to Good Joe in order to stay alive after a few bullets in some vital area.

Personnaly I prefer super speed. I vote for super speed.

Surin on June 26, 2012 at 1:18 am

Joe needs him some super strength, he’s next to useless with weapons and not much good if he’s just an impenetrable tank or a speedy, selfish asshole.

Llama118 on June 26, 2012 at 1:20 am

Speed or defense, both are quite powerful. Joe’s super strength was awesome and all, but he doesn’t need it as much as he needs his defenses and speed. Even if he cant shoot a gun properly, you give the guy grenades and there’s no need for guns. Just toss and run (stand there).

Sky wolfbat on June 26, 2012 at 1:30 am

That is an easy one, he needs Impenetrable Skin so no zombie or vampire can bite him. Super strength and speed are cool but useless with regeneration powers only, he still can be turned into a zombie or vampire.

Although, he can always be properly trained to use a powerful weapon or Bernie can create gloves that give him super strength.

TatoKnight on June 26, 2012 at 2:09 am

Strength obviously. Everyone else has defense thanks to the powersuits right? This way he might get one of his own.

Mr.bojangles on June 26, 2012 at 2:10 am

You’re not thinking far enough ahead.
Assume that any ability that Joe does NOT take is retained by Evil Joe.
If Joe takes any ability other than impenetrable skin, then Evil Joe will be a much harder fight when it inevitably happens later.
Without his regeneration and impenetrable skin, Evil Joe can be caught and defeated eventually.
Otherwise…

Suzuran on June 26, 2012 at 2:29 am

I say impenetrable skin, even with regeneration one lucky zombie and it’s all over.

p. observer on June 26, 2012 at 2:30 am

I would say Impenetrable Skin as Joe is too immature to actually defend himself. Without that skin, he would be killed, or infected by the zombie virus. As fast as the regeneration is, I think that virus is way too strong for him to fight.

Or the lack of impenetrable skin will make him more aware of his vulnerability and he grows as a character without it. Hmm……not sure anymore.

Joshy Boy on June 26, 2012 at 2:52 am

Got to be super strength. His name is Powerfist.

Oh yeah boy on June 26, 2012 at 3:05 am

I think he Should keep the Mind Crafting Ability, That way he can still Blow things up with his mind, & he can help repair things.

Shadow Lord on June 26, 2012 at 3:26 am

I think Victor should give Joe his defensive ability, because he will not want to make Joe more powerful and therefore made him weaker, Victor just wants joe will not die.

Kuru on June 26, 2012 at 3:43 am

I’m thinking either super strength or invulnerable skin. When he gets out, InnerJoe will use whichever of the two Joe does not take against him.
Speed does give attacks, but not make them instantly fatal (so far as we know).
I might as well look at the forums (for once) to make my decision

sh4d0wfl4re on June 26, 2012 at 3:44 am

Superspeed

Delaishla on June 26, 2012 at 4:51 am

I know I’m kinda late on this, but for TPD2, there is a way you can manage on a smaller screen. Go download “Leave the Devil Alone” to get a good base idea.

Kaz on June 26, 2012 at 5:02 am

Hmmm Normal Joe would pick super strength… I think He needs impenetrable skin though because being shot in certain places can be just as fatal. and assuming fatal shots take more time to regenerate. It would be a nice twist that Joe asked his evil counterpart for whatever and regardless he got impenetrable skin. I’m looking forward to the next episode though

Alex Apocalypse on June 26, 2012 at 5:27 am

You have forgotten one. Why not give him the full mindcrafting abilities? Victor was powerful enough to even beat samuel in that regard. Against the vampires, there is no better weapon.

rtiger on June 26, 2012 at 5:42 am

Wait, is “evil Joe” (who might be Victor) transferring his the powers, or giving Joe a copy of the power?

If he is giving up the power, then he (evil Joe/Victor) will become almost powerless without impenetrable skin, as he won’t be able to get those powers off Joe through coercion, and he can’t survive without them (one zombie bite…)

SEoF on June 26, 2012 at 6:08 am

Actually a comment above had a REALLY good idea. POWERFIST could get his own armour, taking care of defenses, and rather than a firearm he would have STRENGTH.

That way the robotic-suited DUO could become a TRIO!!

Green POWERFIST suit please :)???

Eric on June 26, 2012 at 6:21 am

Speed. It can complement defense, and be used offensively. Super strength can out do many of the more common weapons, and it has utilitarian uses, but speed has many more uses – he can dodge close range attacks where impentrable skin might be helpful – the only drawback is if he is constrained. Offensively, he can put a great deal of momentum behind a melee weapon using super speed. He can also take up advantageous positions very quickly and hit the enemy where they are weakest- or even stay undetected and hit them before they can react. Depending on how fast, who knows, maybe bullet time’s a possibility.

Aulos on June 26, 2012 at 6:26 am

super strength! POWERRRR FISTSSSSSS

snorri on June 26, 2012 at 6:31 am

Offense and Defense can be easily be built in a lab by Doc. Speed has applications for both AND transportation. I would have to say speed is the best route to choose if they want to survive.

Leinahtan on June 26, 2012 at 6:35 am

Super Speed.
.
Super strenght is probably the more useful power he can get in a fight, but super speed will force him to act more wisely, to learn to act like part of a team. I think he really needs to stop being so selfish (well, it’s part of his personnality, but being just a little bit less selfish would be good for him).

Dairadh on June 26, 2012 at 6:41 am

MIND CRAFTING in the REAL REALM

will be very usefull especially if “stupid” joe learns how to use it wisely he wouldn’t need to move a singer finger to stop the machine army or any kind of army of the other races..

runnerblade on June 26, 2012 at 6:53 am

i vote super strength because powerfist need’s a comeback

Trynt33 on June 26, 2012 at 7:12 am

I feel the need for Joe to speed

Watching the world burn on June 26, 2012 at 7:16 am

I would just go with super speed, super speed can lead to “super strength” running really fast and hitting something can do just as much damage. Why does a bullet work so well? And impenetrable skin kinda makes the regeneration redundant.

James on June 26, 2012 at 7:41 am

Except bullets shatter or flatten depending on the type when they connect, James! XD ;) But you do bring up a damn good point! :D

I’m thinking the impenetrable skin personally, even if it will make the regeneration redundant. He’s got two brilliant minds with him that could just as well find a way to augment his speed and strength in some manner, but no amount of armor in the world is going to make him that impervious to attack as that ability. The only thing he’d have to worry about is being trapped or the mind games (A threat with any ability he picks really) So really? Just being trapped somehow. Even then… If it’s under rubble and his friends survive, he can still be dug out or rescued. Not to mention he’d make the best damn ‘meat shield’ ever in existence while Bernie, Jess, and whoever else backs him up from a distance. Oh? And no worries about friendly fire! Blast away!

MSB on June 26, 2012 at 8:25 am

another physical power like superstrenght would be boring.

give him mind powers. like real world mind crafting! let him produce objects and blocks out of nothing.

melchor on June 26, 2012 at 9:07 am

I believe the choice is obvious: super speed

Joe’s regeneration keeps any permanent damage from taking form.

Super strength is nifty, but keep in mind he is still made from flesh; this largely puts a limit cap on his “working” strength level.

However, super speed would by it’s definition require the “impenetrable skin” so that the air friction (and other objects, such as dust and rain) does not kill the user. Furthermore, it would also imply that with sufficient speed, one can collect quite a power punch, probably more so than the super strength feature could provide.

grammar nazi on June 26, 2012 at 9:08 am

like an army of block-joeys to fight off zombies. creating barricades to block shots and attacks. etc. that would be real awesome.

melchor on June 26, 2012 at 9:10 am

damnit, i wish i could edit my comments. had another idea. imagin him creating blocks he can drop on his enemies and squish them. like those super mario boulders.

mind crafting!

melchor on June 26, 2012 at 9:12 am

exploding blocks! the possibilities are endless (srry for the spam)

melchor on June 26, 2012 at 9:14 am

Okay, first I would like to say that I love this series. I stumbled onto it a couple months ago and fell in love with it. It’s funny, action packed, and the characters are very unique. I watched all the scenes that were out at the time in two days. However, I digress.

Everyone here is mostly advocating for Super Strength or Super Speed. Only one person, Surin, has pointed out that which ever power Joe takes then Victor/Black-Eyed Joe will keep the other two powers. So, I put forth that Joe takes the Impenetrable Skin. People are saying, “Well, he has Regeneration so why does he need Impenetrable Skin?”. Here is why he needs the Skin power: We don’t know how long it takes for certain wounds to heal. Given the severity of the damage Samuel just did to Joe, the regeneration could take hours or even days to heal (and I think this is a generous time frame). Some people have pointed out that we don’t need the regeneration with the Skin. Wrong. I come back to the issue of Victor keeping the other two powers. Skin may make Regeneration redundant, but we don’t know how long certain wounds take to heal (in-fact, this is the first time we’ve seen Joe critically wounded). If Joe takes Skin and Regeneration then that will give him the advantage when Victor breaks out of his “cell” (we all know that will happen sooner or later). If Joe leaves Victor the Impenetrable Skin then you may as well detonate a nuke in New Hammerston’s Town Square. If Victor gets Super Speed/Strength and Skin then he will be unstoppable. The Skin will stop even the heaviest Machine weaponry or Vampire attacks and the Strength, well that will allow him to tear apart even those large Capture-and-Transport Machines and Machine City Walls (and I am certain there are larger Machine types). As for Speed, you can’t hit what you can’t see and even if he is hit, the Skin power makes Victor invulnerable no matter what other power he has. If Victor keeps the Impenetrable Skin then everyone losses. Hands down that Joe takes the Impenetrable Skin. Also, one other person has pointed out how all of Joe’s friends have “awesome power armor”. Only Bernie and Jess do, the Nightcrawlers only have Kevlar Vests. Only Bernie and Jess would be able to help Joe against Victor if Samuel is not around for whatever reason. If Joe doesn’t have an adequate way to protect himself then Regeneration and what other power he takes are useless. Remember, Victor also has powerful mental abilities, but so does Joe. If Joe takes the Skin ability then the only way that Victor could injure Joe is in a Mind Battle (remember, they both have powerful mental abilities). In such a battle this is where the Regeneration power comes into play.

Strength. His pretty useless in a fight. at least give him a weapon to fight with(Super Strength)

Khayne on June 26, 2012 at 12:09 pm

Impenetrable skin. As even the vampires admit, human technology is the greatest tool. Super Strength and Super Speed would have little effect on a well-placed bullet to the head. With impenetrable skin, Joe can keep tanking, absorbing all physical damage, while using a weapon to mow down the monsters.

Lil' T on June 26, 2012 at 12:30 pm

Then again, having impenetrable skin would make regeneration useless. Can you have impenetrable skin AND super strength? Please? PRETTY please?

Lil' T on June 26, 2012 at 12:34 pm

Well, Speed + any Sword Like weapon would be even better than the super strength.
Even if he takes long to regenerate, if he dodges every attack it won’t matter. That’s what I would choose.
On the other hand if we think about what JOE would choose (considering his personality) Strength would be almost definitively the way to go.

Grey on June 26, 2012 at 12:58 pm

i will vote for the strength because it is powerfull remember superman? HE”s got SUPER STENGTH but joe don’t have heat vision and da supah strenght can heal joe supah fast!!!!
and will give joe the cance to be POWERFIST AGAIN

markjhudiel on June 26, 2012 at 1:27 pm

I hate it when bullets go through my skin AND my week. I mean… what’s up with all these bullet holes in thursday? At least shoot monday if you’re gonna do that.

Willy on June 26, 2012 at 1:36 pm

Impenetrable skin, the best offense is a good defense right? ;P

David on June 26, 2012 at 1:56 pm

Noting it’s the EVIL Joe who should choose:
strength a.k.a. Power Fist? The EVIL Joe would rather die than making “good” Joe the cool and popular Power Fist again, to boost his ego…
Speed? Well, speed can be useful – making super ninja out of “good” Joe, Super Blade…

Nah, I think EVIL Joe would give impenetrable skin to “good” Joe – to be sure there will be “next time”. To be sure Joe would live long enough until he will break from the cage and take his turn…

Impenetrable skin it is.

EnterTheNameHere on June 26, 2012 at 2:57 pm

Speed and strength can be accounted for technologically speaking. You can’t compensate the lack of skin ability with any particular technology (otherwise, humans wouldn’t had that much trouble with any thepocalyspe creatures and factions).

However, here lies a problem:
Exactly how great is his rejuvenation ability?
Will impenetrable skin keeps him from being crushed?
Exactly what is the extent of the skin ability?

If skin ability only stops sharp weapons and not the blunt ones, then the ability is rather useless against any monsters that resorts to blunt force. Only then do you get knocked out. I will have to choose super speed, only IF impenetrable skin is exactly what it says with no other quirks.

With superspeed, you can gain advantage on the battlefield by disrupting any tactical line. Excellent for infiltration, run and grab missions, and maintaining emergency supply line. But that could also be achieved (somewhat) with the skin ability, providing the impenetrable skin stop not only just sharp weaponries.

So and so, I choose:
Impenetrable skin IF resistance against blunt and other forces is included
Otherwise, superspeed

P.S. Having a cannon/rocket launcher (super strength) is rather useless if you can’t guarantee your rear is covered. Superspeed renders tactical flanking difficult for the enemy while impenetrable skin means you can leave your rear hanging loose without care and STILL pack a punch.

Bystander on June 26, 2012 at 5:14 pm

Defense! He can be as stupid as he wants if he’s got defense. And he likes being stupid.
So he needs it. Badly.
Sheesh, he wouldn’t be in this situation of “dying” right now if he had defense.

Taioko on June 26, 2012 at 5:35 pm

It’s a really interesting choice we have here, but I think it’s not really ours, it’s joe’s choice. Impenetrable skin would probably be a wise choice, because speed can be increased by an armour and a gun may replace super strengh, but I don’t think Joe would choose it. Joe never took care of himself in this story, he’s extremely confident, gets out alone in the infested street with a broken arm and no power. It wouldn’t be coherent to choose impenetrable skin. With his character, the most obvious choice would be strength.
There’s an other way though. Joe saw how “Inner Joe” (or Victor, if he really is) killed the plant monsters using only his psychokinetic abilities. I don’t know if he can get this power, because he never used it himself, but if it is an available choice, I think Joe would be really glad to mindcraft in the real world, he would feel some kind of god.
If it’s not possible, I’m pretty sure that super strengh would be his choice.

Olivier on June 26, 2012 at 5:51 pm

Personally, I’d vote for super speed and impenetrable skin. But if we only get one of the 3, then impenetrable skin would be great on a smart person (not Joe, obviously, but the others around him could help him with that if he’d just listen..), strength takes no brains, just a direction for one’s fist, and super speed is, well.. only a great positioning tool. Without all 3, he’s really gotta change up his game. I’d honestly stick with the strength for Joe. Seems sad, but that’s the vote I’m making.

las artes on June 26, 2012 at 6:23 pm

Kinda impossible to judge which is the best pick, since we don’t know the exact nature of each power, including regeneration. When turning points like this are ahead I can’t help but lament that we’ll never see the story that would have been created by the alternative choices.

Limepire on June 26, 2012 at 6:39 pm

Super strength!! Powerfist needs super strength otherwise he’d need a new name.

Besides, regeneration is just as good as impenetrable skin.
Keep to the storyline!! Pweeaasseeee….!!!

Erebus on June 26, 2012 at 8:56 pm

Joe this was beautiful! I held my breath almost through the entire scene! awesome, awesome, awesome!

Rasmus Nielsen on June 26, 2012 at 10:08 pm

Impenetrable skin is probably the best route for Joe to go, especially since they’re going to fight mental strength vampires (can distract and then attack) or a machine army (sheer number of bullets).

I’d say super strength is the most useless ability at this point. Bernie can’t exactly make a suit for Joe instantaneously, especially without the parts needed for it.

Speed could deal with the weaknesses of super strength when he has a melee weapon of some sort but like someone said Joe could still be hurt badly if he were distracted (an issue with super strength too).

I doubt Victor would give Joe the mental abilities. Those abilities are probably associated with the transfer (so it would cut off the connection to the super abilities) AND Victor probably wouldn’t be able to get out eventually, so it seems more like a lose-lose situation.

Jay on June 26, 2012 at 10:51 pm

Super Strength a fun and wise route. Regeneration offers good defense, in an instant Joe can recover all wounds, Super strength would offer joe an advantage in melee combat, since he has horrible aiming.

dramatic stuff Joe!Good job, Good job indeedly.

James Games on June 26, 2012 at 11:00 pm

You all forget that we are talking about Joe picking up a power, and there isnt much time to think about every pro and con of each one (Joe thinking? What was I thinking? lol). Probably, if he could, he would pick some stupid power like “eat tacos without getting full”. He is the kind of guy that hits first and asks later, so Super Strength would be the obvious choice. If we think through, Impenetrable Skin is definetly the best choice, if he still has the mind power to blow up minds (wasnt in the options), then he wouldnt really need strength. And Joe wants to be Power Fist again, so he would definetely pick up Super Strength.

Kulta on June 26, 2012 at 11:43 pm

I think the Impenetrable Skin ought to work, since that way at least he won’t die from the smallest of stuff making both the Strength AND the Speed useless. :3

Acadian Bacon on June 27, 2012 at 12:06 am

Super Strength : Joe lost to odinary vampire once because he lacked of speed
Speed : no str?
Impenetrable Skin : nice ! but it is too defensive
Mine Crafting In REALISM : GODLIKE
100% sure mind crafting !!! he just needs to practice!

Zel on June 27, 2012 at 12:15 am

yeah, like kulta and acadian Bacon said, impenetrable skin. Even with uber regen, he will go down in one hit all the time without the a massive “armor” boost.

Rasmus Nielsen on June 27, 2012 at 1:00 am

Impenerable skin. He can just get a pipe or something and hit things with it while ignoring hits from other things.

Not going to say on June 27, 2012 at 2:16 am

how do i vote? i’m new to this sort of thing

Not going to say on June 27, 2012 at 2:17 am

I think Joe needs defense. He’s not skilled enough to take out an opponant with strength alone. If speed came with strenght (which it should as the super strong muscles would aid in speed), then maybe offense, but even then I prefer Sun Tsu’s method of first making oneself impenitrable and then wait for one’s opponant to become penitrable… or something.

Onodera on June 27, 2012 at 2:54 am

He should get super strength, and to compensate the vulnerability of his skin, Bernie should make him a suit!

Mike on June 27, 2012 at 3:28 am

Impenetrable Skin. Here’s why. Joe has to think of Evil Joe and even with the Super Strength and Regen or Speed and Regen. Impenetrable Skin is far harder to actually mimic. Remember, Bernie can make him a suit or instead of a suit, some sort of frame that goes under his clothing. Joe is armored so the Frame makes use of the skin, Speed and Strength mean if Evil Joe gets out and slugs Real Joe, it’ll hurt, but not do any real damage. Super Speed and Super Strength are far easier to mimic or remake for good Joe. The sheer armor his skin originally had was stated to be astonishing. Plus correct me if I’m wrong but, Joe has been told to have powerful mental abilities. If he trains those he could be able to Teleport could he not?

Big Man on June 27, 2012 at 6:44 am

Hey can I have a link to the download for the music in A Different Kind of Training

Also Super Strength

Sledge on June 27, 2012 at 6:56 am

When choosing the powers though everyone needs to remember, just because Joe has the Strength to punch through tanks again doesn’t mean his body can handle it. Super Strength is how STRONG you are not how much your body can handle. Punching an armored vehicle means it still is resisting him, so that could still do damage to him possibly.

Big Man on June 27, 2012 at 7:12 am

If only it wasn’t so short. Oh well!

illeatyourself on June 27, 2012 at 7:45 am

Also some need to consider that strength and speed are awful without the impenetrable skin. If Joe decided to punch a tank with super strength and wasn’t invincible that’s a TANK his hand will full on hit then probably break every bone in his hand. And super speed if he hit on wall during a stroke of supreme stupid then he would splatter on it. As we have seen his regeneration took at least a day to take a bullet from Bernie’s OLD suit, so he cant regenerate fast enough to save himself after his body is a giant splatter on the wall.

Zombie Killer on June 27, 2012 at 9:24 am

Can I say that Joe should ask for crazy mind powers? Joe will probably say “all of the above” just to spite Victor… (feels good to actually have a name for that dark eyed bastard…)

Truely speaking though, I would preffer Joe to have super speed, but considering Joe’s mind and way of thinking, he’ll probably ask for super strength… Doof if so unfortunately, which is probable..

Impernitrible skin, all the other skills are nice, but he can make up for strength and speed with a weapon..and maybe his lil suit can be improved and grant him the extra speed and power…

Cole on June 27, 2012 at 2:33 pm

I just realised… In one of the earlier episodes Jess shot Joe with a shotgun. If I recall correctly he doesn’t have any OPEN wound but still have some broken ribs that his regeneration heal.
So I’m therefore changing my vote for impenetrable skin. It will greatly weaken EvilJoe when he break free and keep Joe safe.

And to the peoples constantly asking the mind crafting ability… could you please note Samuel’s sentence in the previous episode, the one in wich he said something like “Good you still have the ability to access the dream world”? Joe doesn’t need what he already have.

Surin on June 27, 2012 at 5:51 pm

Hee, I think you’re forgetting some factors, like Rosa maybe. If Joe had Imp-Skin then he can’t give blood to Rosa, though others can if they take the blood out. But if I were ‘Victor’ I’d just give him Skin so he can’t be threatened again.

Blank on June 27, 2012 at 6:05 pm

FYI. I know I need to go to the forum to vote, but don’t feel like making an account XP

Blank on June 27, 2012 at 6:06 pm

It looks like Defense for the win, my personal view is Speed. (reasons to follow)

Defense is good for staying power but if you can’t catch your target you’re just a wall to be shipped at. If you opponent doesn’t try anything it might become a war of attrition but chances are they will (if smart) find more indirect ways to kill you. Examples that may be used are things such as; Toxins, Psychic/Mental attacks, Drowning, etc.

Strength is good for a multitude of reasons, one not withstanding the ability to punch holes in things before un-hole-punchable. Carrying heavy arms and equipment to become a juggernaut is another benefit such a being able to wield many things normal people cannot. The downside being that this make you a glass cannon at times. You can be mixing it up with tons of baddies and bam! Headshot and you’re done.

Speed. Speed itself is kinda a tricky one cause actually it’s not just speed, it affects damage too. My example for speed as strength is Admiral Kizaru from One Piece. The ability to move gives you a much more powerful ending point, as speed x mass = momentum. The difference would be noticeable though as both sides would probably feel the damage, but I think the ability to punch like a mack truck, and the ability to move 2x if not more then said truck and deliver the hit would win as the truck can be dodged.

Tsumeken on June 27, 2012 at 6:18 pm

If I am Joe, I will pick Super Speed. Here’s why: Bernie is a sniper, long range covered. Jess is a swordsman/explosive master, so close range and mid range covered. What’s left? No need for strength now. So super skin and super speed, should we see Joe as “The man who can block anything! The excellent blocker?” I guess not. Let’s sit down, relax and remember what’s Joe’s strength, mind-crafting! So I suggest super speed. Dodge every bullet, get to a safe place, mindcraft the hell out of the enemies. Super speed will do just fine.

Ruiling on June 27, 2012 at 7:42 pm

If I am Joe I would pick impenetrable skin.
The best defense is also the best offense right?

But if Joe were Joe he would go with super strength though.

Jerry on June 27, 2012 at 8:42 pm

Cant he just get a peice of gear with +20 to strength??? =3

I think he should get strength back, he is Powerfist after all!
I love how some people are thinking SO critically, and thinking there is a disadvantage to getting any skill.
There are only disadvantages for NOT getting a skill.
Although I think joe will need speed, strength, and tough skin to do the most powerful powerspin evar!!1!

Joe on June 27, 2012 at 10:40 pm

Impenitrable skin was Joe’s trademark throughtout the comic. And think about it this way. If he can’t get hurt he can punch things without second thought so his punches can be stronger anyway! Also he can ‘try’ to learn how to use weapons.

Spencett on June 28, 2012 at 12:42 am

Voting’s closed… I hope impenetrable skin will come out. I cross my finders for it. Otherwise EvilJoe will be a pain in the ass to kill when he will finally break free.

Since vote is close debate is pointles but I want to answer to Blank who brings up a valid point. My only answers is that before when Rosa first had to drink blood Victor/EvilJoe was protecting GoodJoe with impenetrable skin at the time and he just turned it of on purpose. We can guess that since the power is now handed to Joe he will be able to turn it off at will just like Evil Joe did.

Surin on June 28, 2012 at 12:53 am

@joe thanks for makeing us a part of the story also I love your comic

Red ja on June 28, 2012 at 7:54 am

GO WITH IMPENETRABLE SKIN!!!!!!!

Strength and speed are useless if he’s not alive to use them lol

Ramsheep on June 28, 2012 at 5:54 pm

I like how everybody has considered which power Joe gets from Joe’s perspective. This totally misses the point that it is Inner Joe / Victor that has to make the choice and so will choose according to what benefits him most. This choice may or may not coincide with what benefits Joe most. Plus he’s a little pressed for time.

MrBester on June 28, 2012 at 11:48 pm

I’d go with the skin. While it would be nice to have powerfist back I think it would be easier to just give Joe a gun or another weapon rather than having him get injured.

Alpha on June 29, 2012 at 12:54 am

@MrBester: What?
If a read correctly in Joe’s comment “So Joe has an interesting decision to make!” and in the comic, at the end InnerJoe furiously ask “WWhich other power? Wich one?” Doesn’t really sound like someone who is asked to make a decision. Also Samuel say to GoodJoe something like “it’s your choice”.

Surin on June 29, 2012 at 1:17 am

The obvious answer should be telekinesis.

Failing that, I’ve always preferred speed myself, but I don’t think the good Joe (or, at least, the not-so-evil Joe) is smart enough to use it well.

So, yea, I agree it’s easier to give Joe good-enough weapons than good-enough armor considering how many people want him, so take the impenetrable skin.

Lurkcat on June 29, 2012 at 4:37 am

Oh, wait, voting was closed? Sorry, I was traveling for the last two weeks <:D

Lurkcat on June 29, 2012 at 4:39 am

ethen though voteings closed im glad impenetrable skin won because the other two have draw backs (and with joe that can go the wrong way fast) but with this one all he needs to do with this one is strap on sum bomes run in to the middle of the enamy army blow them joe suvives it enamys die all ends well (unless its not strong anuth to completly sustane it but the rejuvanation will take care of that) plus it makes victer easyer to beat if he excapes and finds his own body thats strong enuth to sustane him. great commic joe. wow that may be my longest comment yet…

the slayer on June 29, 2012 at 5:07 am

Bouncing off of what other people are suggesting.. Should our dear Joe get his own suit, it can supplement his lack of natural armour and his unnatural strength. Which leaves us with one option. Super speed. Specifically because, no matter how much of a boost machines can give you in speed, they won’t be able to increase the actual speed your body and muscles can mobilize without being implanted into your body. And if he had impenetrable skin, that wouldn’t be possible. If he had super strength, he’d end up killing whoever implants him with his flailing about.

Kaz on June 29, 2012 at 5:55 am

Strength

Yoh on June 29, 2012 at 9:48 am

The votes are over.Noobs win :(

Edward on June 29, 2012 at 10:54 am

Impenitrable skin and he could just learn some kung fu sh**
Though it will take a few chapters since he’s a … No offence.
Stength will not only slow him down, but he isnt aware of his surroundings.
Speed will be useless since he wont be able to deal damage.
He should go for impenitrable skin but by knowing him he’ll choose strength.
Heh, who knows?

It took me a while before I got in here on June 29, 2012 at 8:19 pm

I would say that impenetrable skin takes the cake because if you have strength and speed but nothing to protect yourself with in the first place, you’re f**ked. If however you were to have the skin protection, then all you have to do is get a suit of armor to make up the lack of the other two.

jjr214 on June 29, 2012 at 9:59 pm

i don’t recommend the super speed because it might ruin the story.maybe a 50% of super strength and 50% of Impenetrable skin xD

Marky on June 29, 2012 at 9:59 pm

I would give him super controlled real world mind crafting xD!!! Thou that probably would be included in. Other than that inpenetrable skin… Why? well… he is a pussy with pain… Also the viruses… fast regeneration includes all cells? cuz if not… vampires and zombies would be a nono for him. Actually by what I know… Joe will not accept it… He would say I want all D: but then he would die or something… Hmmm I just read votes are over… so my current comment is irreleant on the matter

Tricksterwind on June 30, 2012 at 12:30 am

so many people are posting here yet Joe even said that the votes only count in the forums -_-

Bernery on June 30, 2012 at 2:24 am

he should get super speed to heyp out a comrade and with rejuvination he dont need imenetrable skin and super strength doesnt help against range

Dalno on June 30, 2012 at 5:05 am

also if some boss makes an opposite joe the other upgrades would make it next to impossible

Dalno on June 30, 2012 at 5:06 am

Sad that I watched this after the poll was closed, but I’ll throw my two cents in anyway.
1st, Strength. If Joe is made super strong, he’ll be able to defeat Mutants and Zombies again, and he’ll be a better fighter for the survivors. But I don’t think that’s as good an idea as Impenetrable Skin, as Joe is known to have a temper, and he doesn’t have any reservations about fighting Bernie, and he’s said he’ll kill Bernie a few times before. Now, “you can’t always take him seriously” because he swears that a lot, but if he accidently got mad again, at ANYONE, because everyone is pretty important, story loses someone important.
2nd, Impenetrable skin, the best idea for now. He still has VictorJoe stuck in the cage, so he’ll be able to get more skills back eventually, but without this ability, he’s vulnerable to literally anything. This way, he can at least make himself a useful distraction to protect Bernie and Jess if any other missions are planned and needed. This one at least makes him an asset for himself instead of a liability for everyone else.
3rd, Speed. In the grand scheme of things, Speed wouldn’t be as useful. Sure, move around quickly, but he’s still as fragile as any other human and weak as any other human. You could argue that reguvination would cover that, but I don’t buy that it would work nigh-instantaneously every time. Not to mention pain would be frustrating.

Dyl on June 30, 2012 at 7:24 am

So I couldn’t vote, but I”m still pleased with the outcome. AuthorJoe never said this would be the only time Joe could get abilities back, so this choice ensures his survivability until the next event

Dyl on June 30, 2012 at 7:25 am

Well, I’d say…Impenetrable skin. Why? Because, If he was stabbed, he would’ve broken the knife. If he was shot, the bullet would’ve rebounded. If he was HIT WITH A GODDAMN ENERGY BLAST, He’d probably be okay. My choice would definitely be impenetrable skin. Pain is frustrating.
