1)no name change
2)if a name change is COMPLETELY necessary, have (outer) Joe do it.
I say freaking Thornclaw or something more fierce, cause what he lost in cuddly cuteness he made up for in freaking awesome plant wolf!

Congratulations, you got me to leave a comment. (I’ve been loving this comic, I just usually don’t take time on each comic to comment; it would double or triple the time it takes to get through my feeds :)
The doctor has no right or reason to give Scruffle a name. He doesn’t even act like he KNOWs Scruffle’s name, he’s just been calling him “little guy”. So let the doctor call him “big guy” now and keep moving. Scrufflebeck remains Scrufflebeck until Joe (or at least Bernie / Jess, who financially/legally own him) say otherwise.
Also, I do not like this doctor; unless he learns his lessons and returns to being a useful character soon, I say he has no right or reason to SURVIVE, much less go around renaming main characters. But then, YOU’RE the author; you know what’s important better than we do, and for that reason I hadn’t voted on anything till now. I figured if it’s up for vote then it only has sentimental value to the plot; nothing more. This time, however, that sentimental value was more than enough. I <3 Scruffle. I </3 the doctor. Hence my vote, and my comment.

Champion. Seems like something Nick would choose… It does’t mean all the characters have to stick with the name, just because one decides it’s time for an upgrade.
I have only ever put one comment on here before and it was for a typo. But i have to say Scrufflebeck, since he was introduced, has been my favorite character and to change his name is just a heinous crime to me. Scrufflebeck should stay Scrufflebeck.
hmmm I like the idea of a subtle name change. Like Scrufflebeck to Scruffleback. This doesn’t change how it sounds much and adds a bit of badass to the connotation of the name.
ie. at your beck and call ==> a large back to follow behind (sorry if i messed up the wording on the second saying)
Love the transformation! By the way I think the name should stay, but if not how about just letting Nick call him something different or more scientific sounding. He’s not the coolest guy so it doesn’t have to be greatest nickname….like….Mimort the “Mi” short for Mimic and the “Mort” for death or something along those lines.

Edit: Blargh there needs to be a edit button. Reason for changing it to Scrufflebark is the plant ref (bark for those who are absolutely dull and don’t get it, such as many youtubers for example)
Why do people keep saying “Make Joe give his name!”? You guys DO realize that Joe’s NOT THERE, firthermore that he’s – in all cases – dead, best case scenario he’s in a coma until his body heals by itself, and that Author Joe asked what the Herr gut doktor should name him, ’cause y’know, he’s actually there with the pooch!
I also vote for letting him stay Scrufflebeck, no real reason to change it.
