Now that I’m fully shifting gears to Green Pixel’s game art, I will be posting updates here about our games’ progress (ie. Dr. Vile and TPD2). I want to get these projects done so you guys can finally play them! :D

Also, for anyone who’s worried about The Pocalypse ending: stop worrying! :D The Pocalypse will not end until the story is over. Yes, updates will be slow but I don’t plan on stopping. On the contrary, I have some pretty ambitious plans for The Pocalypse and I expect to fulfill those plans, even if they take years to do :D As Confucius said, “It does not matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop.” Great words to work by :D

I can tell by all your comments that you’re itching for a new scene and I appreciate you letting me know! I love knowing that you’re still there and I thank you for your patience (as razor-thin as it is by now!) :D

Time for some updates!

So, as you know, I’ve been offered a job in a new city. I’ve been here for about a week now and it’s great making game art all day! I’m working with some very cool people and I’m happy practicing my craft pretty much 24/7 :D

About 5 days ago, my kid spilled milk on my laptop (where all my The Pocalypse and Green Pixel files live!) :O I thought it’d be fine but then it didn’t power on so I took it to the repair shop and held my breath haha :D 5 days and $300 later, I got my little machine back, with all my files intact, and here I am typing this update for you :D

Being computer-less for that long, settling into a new home and job, and just getting hooked up to the internet about 3 hours ago are the reasons I haven’t gotten around to creating a new scene or keeping you updated. I’m sorry for that and I’m grateful for your understanding!

As for Green Pixel, The Pocalypse Defense 2 and Dr. Vile are currently in production :D Rich is giving his full-time to Green Pixel and I can’t thank him enough for all his time and hard work! Green Pixel and The Pocalypse are now personal-time projects for me and – just to warn you all ahead of time – I may have to make some decisions in the near future based on my priorities and Green Pixel’s priorities.

That’s all for now! I’ll get the next scene done as soon as I can! It’s gonna be relatively big and I have more work to do for it than usual :D Again, thank you all for waiting and if you have anything to ask or say, feel free to leave your comments as always!

Unfortunately, since the TPD2 crowd-funding campaign didn’t reach its goal and production is taking longer than expected because of that, I’ve taken this job partly to throw some more money into the bank :D That is also why Green Pixel has thrown the extended Dr. Vile game into the production pipeline. Luckily, I’ll still be doing what I love to do as an artist and I’ll be working with some cool new people!

This job will not affect The Pocalypse or Green Pixel but it will, obviously, take up my day time. I will continue working on scenes and Green Pixel games on nights and weekends :D

Thank you for support and understanding while I make this big life change! As you know, I’m used to life changes (ie. Japan :D) so hopefully this won’t be too big of a deal. TPD2 is still in production and I’ll still make scenes!

Just wanted to let you all know and I’ll keep you updated! :D

We didn’t know what to expect, as this was our first Ludum Dare and there were hundreds of other great entries in the Jam, so getting 2nd Overall is super awesome! Now it’s time to expand the game and get it out there while the gettin’s good! We’re planning a larger game (not TPD2 large but MUCH larger than the original Dr. Vile), which will feature:

- More weapons and tools to get Dr. Vile through the droves of Dr. Vile-haters!
- More zones to pillage and plunder!
- More Lexe!
- Perilous dungeons to conquer!
- Upgrades to Dr. Vile and his Lair to make him a more efficient crazy bastard!
- A crafting system so you can choose what to make for Dr. Vile!
- The chance to finally finish off that smug, handsome, do-gooder – Dr. Ben Evolent!

Stay tuned for more news and don’t worry, TPD2 is still in production and still moving along nicely! :D
