Anyone Else Kinda Star Wars’d Out? | June 1, 2018

by Joe

I’m usually among the first in line for Star Wars movies, from Episode I – III (money well spent!) to VII, VIII, and Rogue One. But, I have no desire to buy tickets to Solo. It’s weird – I love Han Solo, Donald Glover is great, and Emilia Clarke is… Emilia Clarke. Solo’s even received good ratings – RT has it at 83% and that’s usually good enough for me :D But, still, I’m gonna wait for the home/Netflix release.

It sounds like a lot of people feel this way. The movie hasn’t performed as expected. What do you think it is? Are we still recovering from Episode VIII (which definitely got mixed reviews)? Did Rogue One turn people off of spin-offs? Or, maybe Han Solo isn’t Han Solo without Harrison Ford?

Hey, Joe. The new ad with the art from The Pocalypse 2 led me here. I didn’t know you’d ever bounced back after ghosting six years ago. You were my first shitty kickstarter (IGG-starter?). Glad to see you’re still going at it, doing what you love. I look forward to getting caught up with the comic.

I always wondered why he wore that I mask, cool to see more of this character. I wonder if those grenades will even be enough to stop Andrius.

@ShiftyOne the grenades were used to expose the rooms to sunlight and give Greybane a territorial advantage.

But if Samuel (in Candice’s body) is still pinned to the wall, wouldn’t the sunlight finish him off? It would be a very dry end to Samuel, given his relationship to the machines and other important characters, but unless he has a trick up his sleeve I wouldn’t be surprised if Andrius left him for dead

Personally I think Solo would’ve been better as an episodic cartoon about their many smuggling adventures, kind of a much less serious and far more comedic version of Rebels. But then the best thing to come out of Star Wars in years has been the Rebels and Clone Wars cartoons.

@justinwya Samuel shouldn’t be scared, as it has been stated many times already he is immortal, his death here would just set him back to finding another host body. He is the least of their worries, question is will the sunlight be enough advantage for Greybane to fight Andrius and Cross?

What I can say is that personally, I enjoyed Solo more than the last two main Star Wars movies. Solo wasn’t really a Star Wars movie though, it is very different from what you’d expect from main Star Wars movies.

I see Shalidar.

Why I keep seeing him? Is a vision? An easter egg? Is the Ghost of Christmas Future?
