Is it just me or is Nathan going to grow up to be an epic hero who always wears a bucket on his head. That would be awesome.

I’m liking this new character, I’ve sort of been hoping for a “regular” survivor hero. Y’know, someone who fights without any of that fancy armored skin, lycanthropy, or powered combat suits.
I guess the uncle is Jared MEDINA and the kid is Aaron Medina. It’s pretty obvious.
However,Joe,don’t worry if you miss one update,you got a kid to take care of,and 1 episode each 2 days is enough,if one times it is 1 episode in 4 days,there’s nothing to worry about. :D

I’m pretty sure he was talking about the soldier who we glimpsed at the end. Although, there’s nothing to say the guards outside the door aren’t still there, or that Aaron didn’t recognise the soldier.
That “I don’t bite” is a really bad joke after see a vampire, don’t you think?

@Highcalibur: Rusty isn’t a hero, at all. He would feed Nathan to the zombies if he could save himself by doing so. Annika has thus far been a damsel in distress for the white knight bernie to come galloping in riding his steed to save. And Nathan hasn’t even spoken for like, 15 scenes, and is like, eight years old. Those are not heroes, those are survivors. While it is true that Jake and Terry could be called “regular heroes”, they don’t quite have the badassery I predict this new character will have, since he’s in a spec ops unit and judging from his story, managed to bust his way out of a blood farm.
Really? She can’t be dumb enough to just run out of the colony. Strength in numbers.
Also, the “I don’t bite” comment made me real frickin’ suspicious. I’m glad this guy hasn’t turned out to be bad yet.
Also, to the comment above mine, Rusty is an asshole, but he has his limits. He’s clearly become attached to Nathan, at least, and that’s most likely out of old-fashioned guilt. With a bit more character development, he could probably fit into the role of a straigh-up hero. Bernie, meanwhile, is clearly becoming a bit more desperate to live up to his father’s legacy. He’s a white knight, true, but he has a darker side to him as well, as evidenced by his behaviour at the blood-farm.
Pretty much every important character,save a few such as Joe and Cross, have extremely multi-faceted personalities that, for me, have helped rocket this webcomic into one of my most favorite that I read.
And, as to this new character, I’m seeing him start out as the “everyman hero” archetype. He has a major “regular guy” vibe to him. Though, with that scar, I’m also hoping that, at any moment, he might start talking to an invisible partner named “Zach”…

But you have to be blind to not realise that Rusty is going to do something badass and save everyone soon. I honestly think that that tough exterior used to be real, but is now just a cover. A lot of his recent decisions have been to protect Annika and Nathan. If that isn’t a hero to you, you been watching too many superhero movies

I really like this scene. Annika is obviously scared and with good reason to, there’s no guarantee they’ll be safe there. Don’t hate her because she’s acting like every other scared survivor would do in a deadly situation. I like Aaron and is the first person to get a positive reaction out of Nathan. And gah, death to the guy who interrupted the story!

@Highcalibur: When I think of heroes, I think of medal of honor recipients and firefighters. The overriding theme among them is that they put themselves at risk in order to help others. Rusty threw a damn grenade at a dozen people to save his own ass. Then he took all the money alotted to the three of them to go drinking. Rusty suddenly doing something heroic would be an epic face heel turn. I’m not blind, you’re just delusional.
