Black Panther is playing now and no one in my family wants to watch it so I guess I’m going to the theater on my own tonight :D
I’ve been on the fence about the character in general because he’s played second fiddle in all the MCU movies. He’s never really prominently featured and we haven’t learned much about him. Right now, to me, he’s a stoic, infallible, determined, and skilled man with no faults – almost too perfect. It was endearing for him to forgive the man who killed his father and put his vengeance aside. I do like Black Panther but I’m not a fan yet.
But, with the incredible reviews coming out, I’m pretty excited to catch the film. I’m hoping that getting his own movie will flesh out the character more and we’ll learn more about Prince (King?) T’challa, what makes him tick, and how he can overcome hardship without Iron Man, Vision, and Spider-Man around :D
Have you seen it yet? Does it live up to the hype?
