Kairosoft Makes Crack 04/14/2012

by Joe

After reading awesome reviews for Kairosoft’s newest game “Epic Astro Story“, I had to get it. I enjoyed their older title, “Game Dev Story”, but this new game is on a whole other level of time-wasting. It’s probably the most addicting iOS game I’ve ever played. The gameplay isn’t ground-breaking or worth any awards, but once you start playing, it feels like an hour passes in a second! Great for when you’re in a long line or on the train, but not so great when you keep putting off feeding your cat or doing the laundry :D

Check it out if you have time (lots of time)! :D

Enjoy Chapter 6’s Summary – “In a Machine’s Words”!

You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS!

Check out Green Pixel’s first iOS game: BlockHopper! http://blockhopper.greenpixel.ca/ Thank you for your support and have fun running, hopping, and thinking your way to the Goal! Make your own levels, too! :D The FREE Lite version is also out! Get it here!

Have a great weekend!

Nice idea, Author Joe. And nice background music. Congrats.

Can we have more interactive scenes like that Joe? That is kinda cool with characters start interacting with ‘Zidane’ more (me).

ZidaneRobbie on April 14, 2012 at 8:18 pm

Pretty nice, pretty nice. but i think i speak for all of us when i say tat we want to see the episode where either Joe or Annika reveals they’re siblings. and the episode where they find each other

Leinahtan on April 14, 2012 at 9:16 pm

I liked this much more than those Late-Night scenes. The interactive name was awesome! This is getting better and better :)

GreenDread on April 14, 2012 at 9:42 pm

I stil dont know when u put the new episode.
Cuz i keep on looking everyday.

ThePocalypseBiggestFan on April 14, 2012 at 10:26 pm

I really like this kind of summary.
It’s not like the usual summary and it is related to the story line.
It would be a great idea to do a summary like this for every chapter.

Solidman on April 14, 2012 at 10:42 pm

Ahh, no Conan this time. Sad. :)
But still, my name is David and it’s always funny when a computer calls me Dave. Although I forgot to ask it to open the pod bay doors, now I’m stuck, can someone help me here please.

Otter on April 15, 2012 at 12:23 am

I prefer this to the old summery. new tech with the name entering?

Not going to say on April 15, 2012 at 3:03 am

That was pretty cool, although it was a little boring and the name thing was a bit pointless (he only says it three or four times in all that). This does help get the story across better, but I still prefer the original style, since those who watch this probably remember what happened anyway, and because it added in some jokes and slight storytelling sense to it that made me enjoy it as much as the other episodes.

illeatyourself on April 15, 2012 at 3:27 am

Great idea for a summary, and yes, the name thing was a bit pointless, sadly to say.

not_so_sporty_sporto on April 15, 2012 at 4:07 am

Hehehe, I had fun with the name ‘meatbag’ :)

Idunyken on April 15, 2012 at 4:20 am

I like the new chapter summery guy. Way better and more streamlined than the comedian making mixed quality jokes and then having to wait for the laugh track that is extremely annoying when heard more than once. I also like that you get to see the characters being referenced rather than the same 4 dudes sitting in a chair.

ALONZO on April 15, 2012 at 6:01 am

Idea! I HAVE to say it JUST in case you didn’t have it planned: This new mediator is filling in because the machines captured the late-night guy! We can see him again later for those who missed the added humor/storytelling-feel, but without the annoying laugh-track and with the added streamline and visual of the referenced characters! It’s BRILLIANT! AND we get a FAR cooler meta-story than “they’re all just actors, really”!

Joe, you’re brilliant! ‘Cus I’m sure you thought that all through already ;)

Lurkcat on April 15, 2012 at 9:49 am

I find it kind of personal and incredibly awesome when your comic calls me by name. Do more like this, as several others have asked.

anonny125 on April 15, 2012 at 11:21 am

Towards the end the dialogue says “Pursuaded by nick”. Should be “Persuaded”.

Aethrys on April 15, 2012 at 1:41 pm

It makes me feel uncomfortable when he actually refers to me by my name, lol.

Tara on April 15, 2012 at 3:48 pm

@Aethrys – Thanks for the catch! Fixed! :D

Joe on April 15, 2012 at 11:16 pm

This was really nice. :D Can’t wait for the next chapter!

Yinello on April 15, 2012 at 11:47 pm

‘Until next time, I am a butt.’
Hee hee

Snerky on April 16, 2012 at 12:09 pm

Hmm.. I miss the other guy,of course ( Zombie Justin Bieber was awesome.. I ♥ Rusty ),but this is so great :D

Happy Vampire on April 16, 2012 at 11:11 pm

”Welcome,I am a huge douche”\Me:………….Joe,YOU COULDN’T ADD CENSORS?

Edward on April 17, 2012 at 6:59 am

“Enter your name:

RadicalVonAwesome on April 17, 2012 at 9:13 am

@Edward: That seems like more effort for negative payoff. I mean, it isn’t saving your name for anything. And you’re the one entering your name, and then proceeding to read it afterward. No-one but yourself is going to see the things you decided to put there, so you really have no reason to get offended by it. And then Joe might add censors and the people who wanted to put their name in as “my butt smells funny” will be rather unhappy. If you don’t want to see something like that there, then don’t type it.

Willy on April 17, 2012 at 2:01 pm

^In addition, there’s mild swearing throughout the comic anyway. I mean… really just a few damns here and there… I think someone dropped the F-bomb at some point… maybe a couple times… but the comic is already at least PG-13. Really… the censor isn’t a thing anyone should be worried about.

Willy on April 17, 2012 at 2:04 pm

^Lol, “Until next time, my butt smells funny.”

Willy on April 17, 2012 at 2:06 pm

I don’t know why,but you’re arleady beginning to be a normal reader.

It’s not good,seek a medic..

Happy Vampire on April 19, 2012 at 1:26 am

@Happy Vampire- Aww man… I had a relapse! I swear I was clean for, like… a month! Then I was like “Ok, just reading one or two more pages can’t hurt” and now here I am again… sobbing in a pile of robots with smelly butts and 3D images with no 3D glasses with which to view them properly…

Addiction is a slippery slope, man…

Willy on April 19, 2012 at 1:32 am

Joe should be finished with Hammerston Harbor already.

Edward on April 19, 2012 at 12:11 pm

-_- This is the internet. There are literally thousands of things to do, and you decide to get impatient because Joe isn’t finished churning out a whole new setting for the new chapter. It will get done when it gets done. As they say, “A watched pot never boils.” Go find something else to do. At most, it will probably be a couple more days. Perhaps it will be posted by the time you get up tomorrow morning. Either way, there’s a reason Joe doesn’t have a set update schedule. He might not be able to “be finished with Hammerston Harbor already.” It’s going to be the start of a new chapter. It’s probably gonna take more time.
