Kung Fu Pandas! 10/23/2011

by Joe

Have you seen the upcoming World of Warcraft race? The Pandaren. I know they’re not new in the Warcraft universe and they do have lore behind them, but I think it’s a bit silly to have these cute and cuddly teddy bears fighting alongside Orcs and Undead. I thought it was another April Fools’ joke until I looked up and saw that it’s October. Granted, Blizzard did somehow manage to make the Pandaren look somewhat badass and kewl. Look at those angry eyes, menacing bear claws, big snout, round tumbly-wumbly, and cute fluffy ears… awwww! :D (One of their racial traits is “Bouncy” haha!)

However, thanks to WoW’s style and light-hearted nature, the Pandaren do kinda fit in. After all, among other things, you can make an Orc do this just by typing “/dance”. But, if I was still playing WoW (clean for over 3 years!), all I would see when I would play my Level 90 Pandaren Monk is Jack Black :D

Enjoy Scene 29 – “Operation Rescue Doc”!

Please continue to vote and check out the new Scrufflebeck’s sketch! :D Thank you for voting everyday!

You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS, too!

Keep playing BlockHopper beta and please keep sending us feedback! Thanks for playing! :D

Have a great weekend! :D

Shade Person on October 23, 2011 at 1:37 am

Looks like Shits about to hit the fan. Good Scene Joe ;-)

Hillbo on October 23, 2011 at 1:41 am

They should wear tin foil hats to protect them from mind control!

CheetahMen on October 23, 2011 at 1:44 am

Oooh .. Time for Medina to shine !! And great job on Sam by the way .. Hope he doesn’t disappear like some other characters in ” Multiple Personalities in One Body ” Manga ..

There Gonna Win I Know There Are

Trynt on October 23, 2011 at 3:56 am

Poor, poor ‘Rookie’, my bet he’s either:
a) Gonna become infected or die
b) Gonna become more jaded than Rusty
c) Gonna become the next Cross (overconfident and maybe jaded)

@ my previous comment…. Technical Difficulties.
I’m WoW clean for a year now. I gotta say though, Pandas are tempting and monks sound awesome.
I gotta say I cannot wait for the next Pocalypse. I’m hanging on the edge of my seat.

Sophie on October 23, 2011 at 5:57 am

pandas kinda looks like a assasian they are black and white =P

raikue on October 23, 2011 at 6:40 am

Pandas DID exist in Warcraft III, there was a history mode only hero you could use to help you out during orc campaigns, just like the Taurens and Trolls, but for some reason it can’t be used on multiplayer.

Gah! on October 23, 2011 at 8:38 am

You forgot to mention the part where they’re also completely ruining the rest of the game. The Pandaren and the Monk class aren’t bad, but they’re revamping the talent system into something COMPLETELY retarded, and many more completely off base changes. Good thing we have Star Wars: The Old Republic coming out to replace it anyways.

Kronoshifter on October 23, 2011 at 11:12 am

If vampires in this universe are weak against UV, couldn’t they set up some huge UV lamps to use against vampires?

Randomman on October 23, 2011 at 11:12 am

i figured out rookies full name cannon “redshirt” fodder, of the new england fodder’s

p. observer on October 23, 2011 at 12:48 pm

…. there’s a single player WOW…? Who knew, shocking.

sh4d0wfl4re on October 23, 2011 at 2:25 pm

oops knew something was going to go wrong with the face, thought the issue would have been having an ? symbol instead of formatting mistakes though.
A preview button for the comments might be nice as I’ve seen similar happen to others… not so subtle hint.

sh4d0wfl4re on October 23, 2011 at 2:28 pm

Joe,you gotta play WoW again. :P

I’m pretty sure they’ll find the elder dead and Doc with his pistol in the hand.

Happy Vampire on October 23, 2011 at 3:49 pm

The doc is going to be chatting it up with the vampire and get in the way I’m sure =P

As far as WoW goes, been clean for 6 months! An before that, I was clean for over a year =P. I brought cata early this year, got to 85 in a week, then stopped basically =P

Jaccep on October 23, 2011 at 4:20 pm

The Pandaren was something that the Mac Hall guys invented as a joke like 5 years ago (that’s an old-school webcomic: http://www.machall.com), and now it’s a real WoW race! Can’t believe I actually remembered it!

Grant on October 23, 2011 at 4:25 pm

There are WoW players who don’t even know about the warcraft series? :\ Blizzard needs to make a Warcraft IV…hope they get some time to do that if Microsoft really is taking over.

Idunyken on October 23, 2011 at 6:17 pm

I think they need the new Scrufflebeck for this mission, he/she could kill the elder instantly.

Leinahtan on October 23, 2011 at 8:01 pm

I have to say, I’ve very much enjoyed the comic and along with discussions with my friend, it has inspired me to start a Facebook group. It’s titled Surviving The Zompocalyse. We’re looking for members to join in as we detail the best ways to survive the impending Zombie Apocalypse.

The Zompocalypse on October 24, 2011 at 2:50 am

Pandaren was a joke champion as far as I remember from Warcraft. So to have it as race… Egh. I would’ve killed to be a Naga or an Ethereal. I guess I should be glad I’m still not interested in returning to it. Saves me money, hehe.

Yinello on October 24, 2011 at 4:07 am

“Doc let it in and his mistake is now biting him in the ass”

Warn me before that scene comes up, okay?

Norman D. Landings on October 24, 2011 at 5:23 am

Ahh shit who gives a f@.k about doc what about joe?

Christian on October 24, 2011 at 6:25 am

“So, sir, you don’t mind if I check on my life insurance policy first, right? Maybe place a few bets on… Uh, totally unrelated matters?”

Locke on October 24, 2011 at 3:10 pm

well joe i gotta say this comic keeps amazing me i think il watch it all from the start again, keep up the good work :D

Barbaric Bob on October 24, 2011 at 6:34 pm

I’ve been “clean” from WoW for a long time too… and it’s a good feeling :P

Rasmus on October 24, 2011 at 8:45 pm

The addicting games of blizzard. WoW has grinding then a new patch and or expansion, new quests, races, classes, dungeons, areas, and new fighting systems after you do that you go back to grinding… wait several months maybe new expansion and or expansion, new quests, etc. Starcraft, never played wanted to play it. Diablo, never played either looks like it might be similar to WoW with the expansions. Well pretty much every game is unoriginal and still we manage to waste our time on them, I think that’s the point of them. Of course games are good in some ways as well, they mostly include different forms of art. The Pocalypes is a great flash comic, as I call them. I would love for the next one to be about Sam, but if you did that people might stop watching. So you delay it. I never write comments and when I do they are huge. Keep up the great work author Joe! Jordan on October 25, 2011 at 8:05 am

Lol, Jordan, your talk is pretty funny, I like how you jump from one subject to another. x)

Dairadh on October 25, 2011 at 9:39 pm

Same here,Dairadh.

Though, you must recognize that World of Warcraft has his history: First,a fire elementals tryies to take over Azeroth. Then the demons attack it. Zombies rise from their graves, and for last, one of the Aspects – one of the strongest, too – is corrupted by the dark side thanks to a cookie. Now,we got pandas. It’s completely logic.
