New Incentive! 03/29/2011

by Joe

March voting is almost over at TWC and we climbed back up to the 150s :D Incentives do work!

The new incentive is my sketch of the mystery mutant featured in today’s scene!

Please continue to vote! :D Will we reach the Top 100 in April? Here’s hoping!

Enjoy Scene 3 – “Armed and Dangerous”!

You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS, too!

I wasn’t expecting the roar!!
so my sister is looking at me cause I just jumped alittle.
Good work Joe!

Eastar on March 29, 2011 at 4:20 pm

where those mutants?

shadewalker, causer of madness on March 29, 2011 at 4:58 pm

I didn’t know mutants could fire guns.

Riou on March 29, 2011 at 5:32 pm

isnt that a machine gun he has…? He only shot him once….

Overload on March 29, 2011 at 5:55 pm

He’s different from the others! Is he still a mutant?

NeoPhantom, Mirage Warrior of the Netherlands on March 29, 2011 at 8:46 pm

when is the game coming out almost my birthday 6 11 no not almost sigh but seriosly i want the game to come out so i can play it

niko on March 29, 2011 at 8:58 pm

yes he is still a mutant just a elite

niko on March 29, 2011 at 8:59 pm

A human dressed up as a mutant that’s amusing

Ashendant on March 29, 2011 at 9:51 pm

i wouldnt be suprised if this happens XD

one of the mutants should say a line that a super mutant sais!

hypnokrit on March 29, 2011 at 9:58 pm

joe put up a warning next time i had my sound on on full , i screamed like a little girl
also pink blood and shooting mutans weird but cool

ryan on March 30, 2011 at 12:38 am

maybe it’s a super mutant and he left his cape at home

mad_wolf on March 30, 2011 at 1:37 am

@Neo: Must be the “Alpha mutant”.

Is anyone else curious as to why zombies ignore mutants? I’d think they’d go for anything that moves, but this suggests that pocalypse zombies operate on scent rather than sight. Maybe one of their mutations is to smell differently to the zeds, in addition to hunter jumping abilities, purple blood, and being butt ugly.

Aethrys on March 30, 2011 at 1:52 am

Judging by the fact that the mutants still seem to feast on flesh (judging by the last line of this update) either they’re a more highly evolved form of, or they are something similar to a zombie. In every zombie movie I’ve personally seen, I don’t recall seeing two zombies attack each other.

The real question, in my opinion, is why the black guy always dies first. 0_o

Willy on March 30, 2011 at 2:16 am

I agree with you Aethrys it has to be an alpha mutant or something, plus Joe I notice that even after the scene ends the fire is still cracking and popping it kinda makes the end a bit eerie. Grats on this your making the comic more and more story driven, plus since when did a mutant get the right to use a flipping gun!

sykes on March 30, 2011 at 3:20 am

on the pink blood think you need to be seriously mutate to collor your blood like not having hemoglobin a protien that makes blood red and transports oxident

ryan on March 30, 2011 at 4:33 am

If it was a machine gun some can be set to semi-automatic so they only fire one
That was crazy, one second he’s talking and then he gets shot out of the blue and by some super mutant no less, Real Joe you know how to keep us on our toes

SpiritOfAdventure on March 30, 2011 at 7:26 am

Things are gettin really good :D Keep up the good work Joe!

K on March 30, 2011 at 7:35 am

Awesome! That’s an interesting approach to mutants…are they similiar to I Am Legend monsters? They seem rather like intelligent, superpowered zombies like those in the movie.

Also, black guy dies first :D

PolarWarrior, Destroyer of Yukon economies on March 30, 2011 at 12:10 pm

Awww… I liked Mark! He was a good foil for Rusty. Oh, well.

Zach on March 30, 2011 at 1:40 pm

see this is why you always aim for the head, this way you don’t use up all of your bullets before the boss fight

tWiCHY on March 30, 2011 at 1:52 pm

@aethrys *sigh*
but they are unaware of thier apperance

hypnokrit on March 30, 2011 at 5:56 pm

So Mutants can resist bullets… wonder if there’s any link to Joe there?

Orhanuva on March 31, 2011 at 6:12 am

@Eastar & ryan – I’m glad the mutant roar had some effect! ;)
@niko – The game will definitely be out before 6/11! :D
@Willy & PolarWarrior – Haha, I knew the “who dies first” issue would come up! When I was making the scene, I kept thinking, “Oh man, I’m a Hollywood producer now…”

Joe on March 31, 2011 at 6:26 am

I just noticed… That guy was the first non-NPC ood guy to die in the comic!
NPC=> not even worth a speaker sprite

The first and ONLY other non-NPC to die as of yet (within the story arc, not memories, excluding reapir-possible Robot) was the vampire woman!

NeoPhantom, Mirage Warrior of the Netherlands on March 31, 2011 at 9:52 am

@NeoPhantom – You’re right! No one is safe!

Joe on March 31, 2011 at 9:55 am

Crazy errands to run! Scene will be late!

Joe on March 31, 2011 at 1:18 pm

You know you’re spending too much time on TV Tropes when you watch that scene and the first thing that pops into your head is this:

Chris B Chikin on March 31, 2011 at 7:23 pm

@neo phantom you know what npc means right?

npc: non. player. charachter.

hypnokrit on March 31, 2011 at 7:57 pm

The fact that he has a sprite for talking makes him an important character. Some game’s characters are normally unplayable except with the use of cheats, but characters with no alternate sprites for certain events are impossible to attain even with cheats. As such NPC can also be used in this text

NeoPhantom, Mirage Warrior of the Netherlands on March 31, 2011 at 9:38 pm

6/11 thats my birthday

niko on April 1, 2011 at 7:24 am

oh and thanks i actualy asked for mutants to
