One Week Later… | March 17, 2020

by Joe

Looking back at last week, it’s mind-boggling to see where the world is now. Lockdowns, quarantines, restrictions, shortages… hard to believe this is real life! Where are we gonna be next week?

I also wonder, when we get through this, how life will change around the world. If this all blew over right this second, maybe not much would change – maybe we’d wash our hands more for a while. But, it’s not gonna go away that quickly. Things are gonna escalate before they get better. How escalated is this gonna get? What kind of changes – economic, societal, medical – will we be faced with when this is all said and done? 9/11 level changes? Greater? Who knows.

Despite all the questions and uncertainty, I remain optimistic. As I’m writing this, I’m listening to the Canadian PM address our nation and it kinda feels like the opening credits of a movie. You know how news snippets play over the credits a la World War Z? Yeah, like that. But, I’m sure this movie will have a happy ending :D

How are you doing in your part of the world? I’m hoping you’re all staying safe, healthy, and comfortable at home! And, thank you to all the hard-working souls out there who are keeping society running while the rest of us stay home.

Hello Joe! Thanks for keeping up the good work in these chaotic times, the scene is great!
PD: we are doing good, me and my boyfriend, both fans of the pocalypse, are doing well even though business is going a little slow for obvious reasons. (We work at a general store of sorts)
PPD: I wonder if you already watched “I am a hero”, it’s a really interesting and fun take on Zombies, we’ve had a lot of time to rewatch that sort of movies lately.

Part of me is afraid that Simon will pull of a Victor style move.

@ShiftyOne – I really hope not, one recurring “super ghost” villain is enough for a series. I was actually overjoyed when Cross got “yeeted” out of the cruise ship window.
I also have a suspicion that Victor is gone too. Probably only Sam remains as the big bad now.

Hey Joe! Thank you for the last updates and positive messages along with ’em! The virus is hitting Brazil hard, specially in my city :( As far as I know I’m still OK but you know how it is… can’t be too careful! (haha) Take care of your family and yourself!

@Dave – I don’t think Victor could die so easily. When Simon was killed, his energy or something was divided between the others and I don’t remember anything like that happening with Vic.

@Joe – I live in Poland. Our government started closing schools and checking everyone on airports quite early and people while panicking a bit understand it’s better to not move around too much so the virus is spreading relatively slowly. Being far from China and Italy probably helped us too.

Stay healthy, fellow readers.
