Plants Can Do More Than Salad! | June 23, 2011

by Joe

SPOILERS AHEAD! Please watch today’s scene, first! :D

When I thought up of our little brussels sprout friends, I did a little research to see if plants could produce a naturally-occurring chemical that could explode. I happily found out that they could! Apparently, according to Wikipedia and this article, explosions frequently occur during Bushfires in Eucalyptus forests where the volatile oils in the tree tops suddenly combust. Isn’t that awesome? I’ve learned a lot about plants and their “abilities” through a little bit of research and I’m excited to introduce more interesting plant life in later scenes!

Oh, and sorry about the buildings blocking the little plant monsters! I didn’t think that one through, did I? :D

Enjoy Scene 9 – “I Hate Brussels Sprouts”!

Please continue to vote! :D Bug’s sketch is still the incentive! Thank you for voting everyday!

Time for another round of…. DELTA’S WILD MASS GUESSING!!

At some point, in the mindscape, Joe will face off against Other-Joe, and be almost defeated. At a critical juncture, Joe will use his rudimentary Mindcrafting abilities to thwart Other-Joe and emerge from his mind triumphant!

I like these series even though im busy making my games i still like to watch pocalypse because theres too much excitement,If you just speed up the process then you’ll have so many episodes in a single day i have two methods which i use to make games
1.)Hire more people to help you make the comics.

Mh… Possible, Delta, but I rather think that Subconcious-Joe won’t really try to overcome the actual Joe, but just arouse him to the point where he will be released and able to merge with actual Joe, to become… eh… complete. It’s the clever part of his mind, in fact he’s trying to help himself. Well, it’s my guess.

Banelings!

Thats the first thing I tought when I saw those.

Maybe a certain Joe has been playing Starcraft 2?

Uh not to be a Starcraft nerd or anything but those exploding plants look an awful lot like banelings. (any Starcraft player knows of their evil-rollie-explodie ways)

I didn’t mind eating brussel sprouts before, but now you’ve turned them against me by turning them into my worst nightmare, SPIDERS!! I have a deadly fear of them and now possibly brussel sprouts

Wow! A full week gone and the comic’s advanced so much!!! Those Explosive-SpiderPods were truly quite interesting too! Awesome that you are using real-life facts for the creation of your “creatures”! I do have to wonder if by the time Joe awakens the roots of that plant will have him and Rosa ensnared like tentacles????? Or else in spiderwebs! lol

Quick question though… Those “eggs” from which those spiderpods hatched… Do they only contain a single “seed” or do they contain several? A normal plant has one “tree” per seed, but insects can produce several tiny eggs covered in slime similar to that “egg” the tree has in it’s roots, arising my question…

i’m with hein… how about adding another machine character? besides harry here is my two ideas for machine friends
Tobor:a battle robot living near the colony: looks like Obliterator

Destroyer:a cranky but kind robot following bernie. looks like harry. but not quite.
