Retconning History | June 16, 2017

Just watched Wonder Woman and enjoyed it! Way better than BvS but I guess that bar was pretty low :D One of the things I really liked was how they set WW’s origin story in WW2-torn Europe.

I’m a big fan of WW2 (that’s not the right word…) and I always find it interesting how writers use the history and events of the war to shape their stories and even re-write what really happened. Captain America’s origin and Hydra’s ties to Hitler, the fictional and explosive end of the Third Reich in Inglourious Basterds, a modern Japanese Destroyer going back in time to sail alongside the Yamato in the anime/manga Zipang…

I wonder what future movies will use as their setting. We already have Iron Man’s beginnings in the war-torn Middle East, so maybe sometime soon we’ll have a live action Megaman taking down Saddam’s rule and it’ll turn out that the WMDs were really just Dr. Wily’s robots :D

Hate to be that guy but it was actually World War One if memory serves – which if anything makes it more interesting! I feel sometimes like WW2 is overused, it was cool to see a different set-up =)

I wonder how Rusty is going to hurt New Hammerston this time. Destroying Victor before the fight is over? Accidentally damaging the defensive perimeter of plants trying to escape? The mind boggles.

Hmmm, interesting. So, clearly, with those pathetic walls, something or someone is protecting them. Someone very powerful. I bet Adrian isn’t human any longer.
