Singing Ice and Fire | August 25, 2011

by Joe

I just finished watching the first (and only, for now) season of Game of Thrones and… wow, it was pretty… wow. The series is based on George R. R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” books, which I must read now, since I can’t wait for early 2012 for Game of Thrones’ second season.

The deceit, the plot twists, the costumes, the characters, the acting… everything was awesome. And, there are zombies in it, too! Medieval zombies! Icing on an already delicious cake :D

Anybody else a fan of the TV series and/or the books? I hear that the later books aren’t as good as the first ones, but I still look forward to reading them all!

Enjoy Scene 6 – “What’s the Point”!

yeah, i’ve read the books. the first three are awesome(though the third is very dramatic). the fourth i didn’t like a lot, mainly because my favourite characters weren’t in it. but the fifth one is practically occurs in the same time window as the fourth one(basically george martin realized that he wrote a very long book and had to split it into two). but 5th one goes further than the 5th in terms of time, and it has your favourite characters. therefore, 4th season may be either awesome(if they combine the two books), or the biggest fall in quality you have ever seen. i am reading the 5th one right now, but the first quarter is pretty awesome.

and also, winter came :)

i get the feeling that this is going to result in Joe’s personalities being either merged into one or one of them(probably the ego-joe) being offed… or the control issue will be resolved in a moment similar to Ichigos problem in bleach. either way i doubt Joe will die hes a main character

Wow epic (aren’t they always?) Joe is unconsious, Dominic broke free and is in a room alone with Doc.Anyway i saw the making of The Game Of Thrones on Fox life and the minute i saw it i became very interested in it.Im hopin to see it soon since i don’t like watching stuff on the computer i’d rather watch shows on TV and yeah. But seeing everyone loves it makes me even more interested so i think ill give internet a chance and try to catch some episodes right away.

Did you know there is a board game of “A Game of thrones”? Really good game, no dice very little “chance involved, almost pure strategy. Might want to look into that if you’re interested. There is a card game of A Game of Thrones as well, though I haven’t tried that one so I can’t give you feedback on it.

a song of ice and fire is a really nice collection.
As Joe would do, i got pissed when i knew that the author, R. R. Martin haven’t been writing (for years) until recently the 5th book, dance of dragons. I hated him for that.
Now that the series became the abusive success it is, the shining of the books got clear too, once the people got its interest awake.
Counting the time for the books tough.

I’m a fan of “A song of ice and fire” I have read them twice and now I’m reading the fith book :)
In my opinnion the only book that is not so great as the rest of then is the fourth one, but it stills being a great book!
The best one is the third book: “A storm of Swords” If you only have seen the HBO tv series ir advice yo to read all books from the start. I’m sure you’ ll love the story even more than before you have seen on tv!

ok, that doesn’t help author joe, joe is on thin ice with life and death. One another note, i think (that i stated on the previous scene) the elder is going to be that magical force that intervenes and saves joe, so if that happens- CALLED IT! anyways… thumbs up by me! XD

I have come to find that I am in a love/hate realtionship with your cliffhangers. Can’t stand the wait for hte next episode but I know it will be worth the wait. And I really hope the Doc lives, he reminds me a lot of the doc from the Back to the Future Trilogy.

Cue Doc revealing his dark, eldritch powers. I seriously bet that he schools the Elder.

Also, I’d be rooting for Joe’s permadeath if not (1) it seems entirely unlikely, and (2) it’d weigh very, very heavily on Bernie.

i’m reading the books, they’re great. I don’t know if i’m correct, but those “zombies” are called in english “the others”, aren’t they. believe me when i say you won’t like them.

no, the others are the ancient race that creates zombies(a.k.a. white walkers) when they kill humans/horses/bears/pretty much anything.

@ those worried about the good Doc
Why are you worried for him!?!?!!
You should be worried about why he wasn’t surprised at all about the Elder escaping,
or why he pointed out that he went to the ‘bathroom’ while perfectly aware of Dominic’s movements,
or why the Doc brought him in in the first place!
Our friend the Doctor has everything in hand.
