T-Minus 9 Days! :D 06/06/2012

by Joe

Nine more days left in the campaign! AH!

Please continue spreading the word! If you haven’t already, please post the campaign on your favourite forum, too! :D Liking the Indiegogo page and tweeting about it also brings up up the campaign list!

I’m full of nervousness and excitement as the campaign draws to a close. It’s been a wild month of checking my e-mail for new funders! I’m hope my heart can make it through to the final hours :D Thank you all so much for the support and I’m sure we can all push harder near the end!

Enjoy Scene 11 – “The Immortal Brain – Part One”!

Also, anything worth noting from E3? All I’ve heard that has me excited is the new Sim City game :D

You can follow The Pocalypse on Facebook, Twitter and RSS!

OK. There is the origin of the zombie virus.

Shade Person on June 6, 2012 at 1:58 am

HOLY F! And goddammit, could have gotten first.

r2d2go on June 6, 2012 at 2:14 am

well in that case bernard should have killed that man the minute it turned and geoffery deserves to be infected, cured, then killed.

Kendal on June 6, 2012 at 2:50 am

@Kendal It doesn’t sound like a cure can be found, even if a cure is found as soon as the person comes to he/she will die.

James Games on June 6, 2012 at 3:22 am

it sounds like the virus severs the connection to the brain, so if they were cured, they would wither die, like James said, or they would just be vegetables unable to independently do anything.

Zessfar on June 6, 2012 at 4:23 am

oh goody, a zombie

Not going to say on June 6, 2012 at 4:54 am

This is wonderful Joe!!! So psyched!! Just got a new laptop and now I am ready to play TPD2!! I’m sure it will be amazing. can’t wait!

Alex Apocalypse on June 6, 2012 at 5:39 am

Hey long time no see sry I haven’t commented in a while I love the pocalypse tanks so much for doing joe also also@james games it does seem like theirs no cure but their is someone who has a immunity ps (its rosa if you did not know)

Red ja on June 6, 2012 at 6:05 am

it’s only fitting that geoffery the man who made the virus ends up being infected by it.

Alpha on June 6, 2012 at 7:12 am

That looked like Joe over there….then again a lot of people and colonist and corpses are recolors of Joe

Edward on June 6, 2012 at 7:16 am

hey joe. small typo where bernard says “after years of research” instead of saying “our team” it says “out team.”

gunsmen45 on June 6, 2012 at 8:56 am

@gunsmen45 – Thanks for the catch! Fixed! :D

Joe on June 6, 2012 at 9:39 am

Has anyone else notice that all of the zombies are always the same. It’s starting to annoy me. Just a small request (I think) Joe, could you please give more variety to all of the zombies, even for the game. eg. Zombie with only one arm, crawling zombie with 0-1 leg, different types of normal Zombies too ect.

The Khan on June 6, 2012 at 10:00 am

How Do You Come Up With This Story Line??? Its GENIUS!! I can’t stop reading!! I can’t wait to hear about Joe’s backstory :D

DJuan on June 6, 2012 at 12:12 pm

Dude, you’re totally missing out on Gears of War. my legs are crossed in anticipation for next years masterpiece of brutal disembodyment.
And as usual, great scene. pretty much every time i expect the story to go one way to turns another.

Lukas Lee on June 6, 2012 at 2:01 pm

Good story progression this chapter(-:

However I would prefer speech “bubble” only on the bottom of screen.

EnterTheNameHere on June 6, 2012 at 5:35 pm

This one was simply GREAT, Author Joe.

Sam on June 6, 2012 at 8:00 pm

Fun Fact: There’s an advertisement of the free MMORPG “Zombie Pandemic” next to the comment box.

Geoffrey ( or whatever is his name ).. isn’t him Greybane’s friend? Would be reasonable: create an immortal being to retake the Super Brain. What do you say?

Happy Vampire on June 6, 2012 at 10:27 pm

“Whose”, not “who’s”, Joe.

grammar nazi on June 7, 2012 at 12:19 am

@grammar nazi – Absolutely right! Possessive :D Thanks for the catch!

Joe on June 7, 2012 at 1:22 am

@ Gammar Nazi: Nice =)

Brenkie on June 7, 2012 at 2:43 am

A brain independent of the body? That sounds quite a bit like Samuel.

bobbaganoosh on June 7, 2012 at 1:22 pm

It’s JOE! So the secret is finally being revealed eh? Hehe… Also, the power failure was so cliche. Could have been worse though. ;)

illeatyourself on June 7, 2012 at 1:54 pm

Soooo… We’ve got the history lesson of vampires (some relation with Bernie, probably his dad), Mutants (experiment gone wrong utilizing Greybane’s cells), Machines (partial alliance with Samuel), and possibly now Zombies. Next should be the plants.

NeoWarrior on June 7, 2012 at 4:32 pm

@James Games two words:
artificial organs.

Kendal on June 7, 2012 at 10:18 pm

”You want to transfer Subject BRO1 God-like Mind to a hunk of worthless rotting meat”

Edward on June 8, 2012 at 5:16 am

Sorry… couldn’t help myself

Willy on June 8, 2012 at 6:22 am

@Edward – Thanks for the catch! Fixed! :D

Joe on June 8, 2012 at 8:46 am

“My methods… differ from yours.” Such ominous lines! I wonder if Geoffrey is THE Geoffrey, the brilliant mind which became ZOMGACK! when Greybane infected his friend to keep him alive? Maybe I’m just making things, but I like how these stories keep intertwining!

Dyl on June 8, 2012 at 3:30 pm

and a quick check of the wiki proves that connection, but I’d love to see how they all met up! Looking forward to the next scene!

Dyl on June 8, 2012 at 3:31 pm

BRO1.. BRO1.. BRO-ther1. Joe *is* Annika’s OLDER brother..

Happy Vampire on June 9, 2012 at 5:08 am

OH FUCK!!! You bastards! Now i’m in the bottom! D: will I ever be at the top? T.T
Dominik is sexy!!!<3

BadassCupcake on June 10, 2012 at 1:03 am

Hmm, strange. Usually by now Joe has his next comic up. Maybe he’s just working hard on the Campaign.
