I don’t think he is making Obliteration. That’s his dad’s suit. Bernie is inventing his new suit all on his own. That’s my impression anyway.

may i suggest a plasma lance? (its basically a beam laser with a electrically charged explosive shell that melts a indent into the target and then explodes on the inside, think Wookie Bowcaster x10 (if you don’t know what Wookie Bowcasters fire, check the star wars wiki))
If i may, should you need any reference for a weapon, i recommend the space marine weaponry from the Warhammer 40k universe. Coincidentally one of their weapon is a power fist. http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Power_Fist

Not to point out the nitty gritty stuff… but the enlarged Harry (when he’s talking) has a blue stripe on his head but its position doesnt match the one on mini-pixel-harry’s head… just saying!

its a little off topic, but that “fortress” shirt design was inspired by minecraft right? i really like that game and joes “impenetrable fortress” and his block crafting reminded me of it.

@Ashendant & Squizzel – I really regret leaving my Grey Knights back in Canada :( But, they’re waiting for me comfortably in their carrying case. My paints are probably bone dry, but at least I won’t have to buy new models when I return :D

I believe there was a weapon called the power fist in Fallout 3 as well. If you need inspiration for cool weaponry, the Fallout series or Half-Life 2 would be a good place to look. And thanks for the tutorial :)
Oh and by the way, this being my first comment, I’d like to say that I’ve been reading since the 4th or 5th scene and have come back every other day since then to read them, you’re making a really great comic!

Warhammer 40K, ah, I remember you well. I had a gigantic Chaos Marine Army. As my playing dwindled I eventually sold it. Although I got is off for a good price I wish I had kept at least enough to make another army. Now I have to start all over ;.;
something tells me that Joe is gonna be mad when he finds out that Andy tricked him into freeing him. that or Jess (if she finds out) is gonna tear a new one into Joe for being an idiot…again
