I was hoping for a merge, I think that the inner joe would have never survived at first, and that the outer joe would have not survived on his own. They worked together to stay alive, and now everything’s been torn asunder. I think this is some sort of deeper meaning as well. I guess that the art of compromise is dead.
Haha… Rosa’s getting more criticism in the comments for insulting Joe (and only so she can release Inner Joe and save both of them) than Rusty did for killing a room full of people + mutants (to save his own skin).

okay first of all to those that are mad at Rosa look in on from her side. She does have a valid point for being mad at Joe and telling that he is ignorant and stubborn (sadly I agree with her on that.) Plus Joe was getting a bit creepy with telling Rosa that they were married. YET! There is a yet here, it is possible that Rosa is still in denial in a lot of ways and is taking it out on poor Joe here, so its not like shes being mean on purpose maybe but is just taking it out on him sadly and also anyone else notice her hair is to be all black but when it shows here talking there is still some brown?
Joe tried to force her to marry him, in my book that makes calling him scum an insult to an important part of the ecosystem. He deserved everything that he got and more.

Honestly people, Outer Joe is incredibly arrogant and self-centered. Rosa is completely justified here. Aside from having some sense of entitlement, and thinking the world should revolve around him, (Yes, he is the main character, but still…) OJ (Not simpson) gets upset that other people rain on his end of the world by not being dead, and essentially thinks “I’ve got super powers, lookitme, I’m special!” IJ, whatever he is, is the one actually responsible for said powers, and if it wasn’t for him, OJ would have been killed by the first zombie, or when Jess shot him.
Besides, it’s not like Rosa is killing OJ, it’s just that IJ is ASSUMING DIRECT CONTROL (Of this form) and OJ is now stuck watching events unfold like IJ is 90% of the time.
she is justified in picking inner joe over outer joe, but was it nessisary to kill him? he didnt even fight back. Though he might not be actually dead, but now i see them going on some quest to bring him back. Where outer joe is arrogant and rude, inner joe is manipulating and seems to have a different agenda… kinda reminds me of a certian zompire from the starting.

@Leviticus OJ is not dead. He didn’t die when the elder released IJ the last time, so it stands to reason he isn’t dead now.
He’s just in the position usually occupied by IJ. Watching events unfold from the dream realm without being able to influence them. (Well, IJ could, by controlling their invulnerability, but I don’t think OJ suddenly assumes that role.)
She better make him a sandwich when they get back…

Maybe Inner Joe (and Rosa) will finally get their death they deserve. By the way, Outer Joe didn’t try to force Rosa to marry him. He thought he was already married with her. Outer Joe is slightly phycological, but not much else.
@aattss He’s also a complete jerk. In fact, he’s the third biggest jerk in this comic, behind cross and rusty. I’m not sure where you’re getting the idea that Rosa deserves to die from, all she did was make the decision most likely to result in their survival. And it’s hard to pass judgement on IJ, since he gets like 10% of the screen time. Bottom line: OJ got them into the mess they’re in with the plant monsters, now IJ has to clean up after him.
Also, I’m gonna go out on a limb here and say that IJ and OJ have a symbiotic relationship, and you can’t kill one without killing both. Or if you COULD kill IJ, OJ would lose all of his abilities.

Maybe this will help straighten him out.
No one really noticed that rose is a child like joe. Not in the bad way one would think of a child, but the innocence the blind faith and good will. But she also has the blunt thruth. Joe on the other hand is selfish, self centered, greedy, does not understand consequences of his actions. Since Rosa has that childish faith she felt hurt that joe could not keep his promise to get her back to the colony. So don’t hate on her for feeling hurt.
Outer Joe is too blunt and stupid to be selfish, self centered, or greedy. Also, Rosa never put any trust in Outer Joe. I’m finding it hard to try to explain. Finally, Outer Joe did not deserve to be permanently killed and replaced by Inner Joe.

I believe that people are blaming Rosa for this, it’s the people’s vote, they knew this is what would have probably happened, HOWEVER I do not believe Outer Joe deserved what he got, everyone sits there and blames his bad qualities, Joe has good qualities, he’s protective, trustworthy, and brave. Last time I looked, those are great qualities, Joe just could have not cared and not chased after her, meaning Rosa would have probably died by Greybane.
Outer Joe decided not to join up with Andrius twice (though first time was a near miss and another time it was an accident).
I warned on the forums that following Inner Joe would be evil-related, and tada.

I think that only a number of things can save Outer Joe.
1. The elder vampire has a chat with Outer Joe and boosts his ego
2. One of the other and probably evil vampires/zombpires manipulates him (Rosa counts as evil)
3. The doc comes up with something like a dream world communication device
4. Inner Joe gets knocked out and somehow Outer Joe feels encouraged
5. Something infeasible like timetravel

Dude, why the heck would Rosa choose Joe? I mean I like Joe in all cause the man is funny but Inner Joe vs Normal Joe in a fight? Rosa probably like Normal Joe more but she doesn’t see him as being as strong as Inner Joe. I mean Inner Joe was the one that told Joe how to save her life, Inner Joe was the one fought on equal grounds with the elder, and Inner Joe is the one that complements her mental strength while Joe just complains. What I want to see now is Inner Joe beat the crap out of something and Rosa realize her mistake because I think Inner Joe is a new breed of monster caused by the Pocalypse (Abomination if you will).

I don’t think the old Joe is done yet. Nah I think he will come back better then ever, besides I think Joe’s ‘Super-ego’ is more of a jerk then the real Joe. :P He’s organized and manipulative where normal Joe is more instinctual and unorganized.
