Life Moves Fast! | July 21, 2017

by Joe

This weekend, we’re celebrating my youngest daughter’s 3rd birthday :D It’s amazing how fast time flies and how fast kids grow up. I still remember bringing her home from the hospital, unable to hold her head up. Now, she’s running, jumping, and even arguing haha

The Pocalypse is turning 7 this October and I still remember the very first posts. I remember being on Miyokojima in Japan on vacation, constantly refreshing the site for any sort of feedback. It definitely wasn’t pretty at first :D I googled The Pocalypse and came across the Escapist forums where one reader gave me my first negative feedback. I remember it hurting and it even made me want to give up. But, I knew that I had to keep going. I put so much work into starting The Pocalypse and I wanted to see it through. So, I kept going… and going. A few bumps and pauses along the way but I’m always glad that The Pocalypse, all its readers, and I will always have each other :D

I doubt that the Escapist poster will ever read this but if you ever do: thank you for that first uncomfortable push! I’ve had a ton of negative feedback since and even more positive feedback. I know now that all I can do is keep going and keep “raising” this little story :D

I don’t think The Pocalypse is just a little story anymore, Joe! It’s a great one, and I’m glad it’s still going.

You know, if Author Joe ever does medieval roleplay, he should go WITH THE TOWN HANGER

Fucking awesome. This is what makes this an awesome story. I just came back from my long break from reading web comics, and see this. Three fresh ones. Keep it up, Joe.
