Movie Hype :D | October 2, 2019

Don’t know which movie I’m more excited about, Joker or El Camino :D It’s great to see Joker getting good reviews and I think Joaquin Phoenix is an awesome actor. It feels like the DC movie universe is more suited to darker, more mature, more grounded, rated R (or close to it) stories and should leave the Thor Ragnarok-esque levity and sorcery/energy blasts to the MCU. It almost feels like Superman belongs in the MCU – he’s not “dark” enough for the good DC movies like the Dark Knight Trilogy and, hopefully, Joker. If I wanted to see dark Superman (and the Justice League, CGI-lipped one doesn’t count), I’d just re-watch The Boys :D

Then there’s El Camino. I’ve watched Breaking Bad from beginning to end 10+ times and if it ever leaves Netflix, I may re-consider my subscription. Breaking Bad is right up there with Band of Brothers as my favourite show of all time. I always thought the ending was perfect and it didn’t need a continuation but when El Camino was first announced, I thought “Hell yeah, bitch! I wanna see what happens next!” :D
