So, I’ve been watching “The Will: Family Secrets Revealed” and it’s got me thinking about what I want to be when I, well, die.
The show’s about the unusual last wishes of some unusual people. They range from kinda weird to totally f’ed up, but, hey, the person is dead, so let ’em do what they want :D One of the more interesting stories comes from the comic world. The Marvel comic world, to be more specific. Mark Gruenwald, a very passionate Marvel editor, who loved pulling pranks on his co-workers, died at the young age of 43, while he was still working at Marvel. He loved comics so much that he – get this – stated in his will that he wanted to be cremated, have his ashes mixed into printing press ink, then have “himself” printed in comic book form! The process was carried out and his ashes now live in the pages of the first trade paperback compilation of “Squadron Supreme” :D Neat, eh? That would be like me having my ashes digitized and inputted into the pixels of a The Pocalypse scene! What? It makes perfect sense! ;D
I also learned about a cool procedure called “alkaline hydrolysis“. Basically, they dunk your body into a heated, high pressure water and lye solution that turns you into an environmentally-friendly goop that can be safely discarded into a sewer system or spread on a garden! Circle of life, huh! The procedure is being offered in a few places as an alternative to cremation, but it’s not a universally accepted way to dispose of a body. Thing of the future? Only time will tell :D
As for me, when I die (which shouldn’t be for another 100-140 years, depending on tomorrow’s technology :D), I think I want a tree seed and everything that a tree seed needs to thrive to be implanted into my body. Over the years, the tree would grow and absorb me. The tree and I would be one, essentially. I would live on as a majestic tree! If I’m lucky, we would create a human/tree hybrid! It could happen!

Even though I claimed Joe must be a TimeLord i found another reason he cant be. When Doctor Who regenerates he keeps his name because he also keeps his memories and his name would be in his memories.
